URBAN ROOTS 2016

Urban Roots is a nine-week course designed to support community leaders in establishing or expanding thriving community gardens in the city.

The 2016 class begins on Saturday, January 30th. Applications are due January 15th!

Since 2005, over 330 community leaders have participated in Urban Roots, spending over 15,000 hours building their skills as growers, organizers and using this experience to establish and maintain thriving urban gardens and farms in the city. Beyond work in their own gardens, Urban Roots graduates have gone on to participate actively as leaders in the Garden Resource Program. They are also some of the most productive growers with the Grown in Detroit cooperative and are doing amazing work to improve Detroit's food system.

Please help us spread the word to your community on your e-newsletter and/or communications with community leaders who might be interested in building their skills in order to create or expand a community garden project in the city.  Please see the attached application for more information.

Let me know if you would like a stack of applications for your location and I'd be happy to drop some by.
