CLARK PARK NEEDS VOLUNTEERS FOR ITS ICE SKATING & HOCKEY PROGRAM!

We are lucky to live in the midst of the best park in the city of Detroit - Clark Park.  Did you know that the maintenance, operation, and programming in Clark Park is due to a unique partnership between the City of Detroit and the Clark Park Coalition, a nonprofit community organization that runs the youth recreation and development programs in Clark Park?  Included among these programs is one of the nation's most exciting urban hockey and ice skating programs, which offers Detroit youth an opportunity to learn to skate and play hockey for a nominal fee.  The diversity at Clark Park hockey is beyond compare.  The program is offered at Metro Detroit's only regulation-sized outdoor ice hockey rink.

Open enrollment for kids aged 4-17 starts Saturday, September 21st from 2 – 5 pm where parents can bring children to register for the Learn-to-Skate program and sign up for hockey.  For $35 youth will receive a full set of hockey equipment, instruction, hours of ice time, and get plenty of exercise throughout the winter months. There is no more affordable way to introduce a child to skating or allow them to enjoy the sport of hockey.  Scholarships are available on a limited basis.

Clark Park needs volunteers for the following:

-       Ice Hockey and Ice Skating Coaches

-       Volunteers to Pass Out and Lace up Skates

-       Pass out Hot Chocolate and Help with Sign-In

-       Help with Registration
