American Indian Health & Family Services (AIHFS) has the opportunity to offer a free training in Postvention to our partners to create a more suicide safe community.  Postvention is about all the best practices to be followed by professionals and leaders involved after the unfortunate case of a suicide occurring in the community.  It is so important that everyone involved (leaders in schools, mental health agencies, the health systems, the justice system, faith organizations, etc.) have the skills to respond in a productive way, which will essentially be good suicide prevention as well.

Please join us at AIHFS [4880 Lawndale, Detroit, MI 48210] from 9:00am-5:00pm on September 12th and 13th, 2013 to be a part of our Postvention training being hosted by the Connect Program, a Nation Best-practice program developed in New Hampshire. If there is someone else that might be able to serve on this committee and attend the training, please let us know!

Please contact Christy Bieber to register or get more information (313-846-6030 X1217; This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Or you can contact me as well.

We hope to build with you in creating a group of leaders who are prepared, conscious, and proactive in the rewarding work of suicide prevention and postvention.

Best,

Nickole
